New to Pensacola this year is The Wonderland of Lights drive through Christmas lights attraction. Being held at the Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds on Mobile Highway, The Wonderland of Lights is open daily from December 13th through December 30th.
The kids and I took grandma with us and visited the Wonderland of Lights on a cold and rainy night. We were a little nervous that they may not be open but we got right in and it turned out to be even prettier in the drizzle, plus the kids kept hoping for snow.
We put Christmas music on the radio and sang our favorite holiday tunes as we drove through at the recommended 3 MPH. Halting a few times to snap a few pictures was fine as the cars were far enough apart and it ended up taking us about 15 minutes or so to drive through the whole display.
At the end of the light tour you’ll find a small gift shop area in the fair’s main entrance building. Currently there are about six booths or so in addition to Santa’s photo area where you can purchase Christmas themed treats, fudge and other goodies. There is also this Barnyard display with singing chickens that was fun. Since this is the first year of the event there aren’t a lot of booths but I’d imagine there will be many more in future years.
Prices to drive through the Wonderland of Lights attraction are $20 for a single vehicle with up to eight passengers, $35 for limos or taxis, $75 for motor coaches, or you can get a season pass for $35.
