Everything to see and do in Pensacola!
Please join us for this year’s Heart of Pensacola “Gather in the Garden” event on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 5eleven Palafox in downtown Pensacola. This event benefits the American Heart Association’s education and research efforts and funds the Heart of Pensacola initiative, which strengthens nutrition security and provides CPR resources in Pensacola. This year’s event is co-chaired by Gaye Overholtz and Addie Murdoch.
Through the Heart of Pensacola each week, students and patients in need receive healthy food and education materials. Since September of 2021 chronically ill adults that live in Pensacola have received over 2,375 produce boxes, and at-risk students received more than 28,496 backpacks full of healthy food items. With continued support, Heart of Pensacola hopes to expand to provide additional lines of service in the community, such as nutritional education programs and hands-only CPR training for students in Escambia County schools.
This year’s “Gather in the Garden” will feature passed appetizers and a seated multicourse dinner prepared by multiple local chefs, entertainment by Ashanti Floyd “The Mad Violinist” with DJ Ramsey, and a live auction.
Nutritional equality is the foundation for a healthy community and productive economy. CPR training helps improve community preparedness while reducing disparities in survival rates for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. It takes a village….so come help us make Pensacola better and celebrate our community corporate partners and leaders that are the “Heart of Pensacola.”
Proceeds from the event will benefit the American Heart Association and the Heart of Pensacola.
