Welcome to Pensacola, Florida!

Pensacola, Florida has a rich history as America’s first settlement. Established in 1559 by Tristan de Luna, Pensacola was the first European settlement in the United States. With the original colony later abandoned, the Spanish returned in the late 17th century to found the modern Pensacola as an outpost to defend their claims to area land. With its strategic position along the Gulf Coast, Pensacola has been held at different times by the Spanish, French, British, United States and the Confederate States of America, giving it the moniker of City of Five Flags.
With pristine white beaches located along the Gulf Coast between Fort Walton Beach and Orange Beach, Alabama, there is much to see and do in the Pensacola area. There are many outdoor adventures and cultural activities to enjoy in Downtown Pensacola, Pensacola Beach, Perdido Key and the northern part of Escambia County, Florida.
