The bright, cheerful colors of the Native Cafe, both inside and out, give passersby an idea of what many locals will tell you – you can get the best breakfast on the beach at this family owned cafe in the so-called “historical Pensacola Beach mall”. Located at 45A Via De Luna, next door to The Islander and a short walk from Casino Beach, the Native Cafe is open daily for breakfast and lunch and they serve homemade favorites with a southern flair.
Get all your breakfast favorites including steak and eggs, French toast and pancakes, or go native with Gulf inspired dishes like Crab Cakes Benedict or the Gulf Coast Seafood omelet. There are plenty of southern inspired choices on the lunch menu as well, like their Florida Fish Tacos, Seafood Gumbo and Flame Sauteed Shrimp. My favorite sandwich is The Skinny Dip ($9.25), a native version of a French dip, which I enjoyed with the Corn Po’ Cakes appetizer ($4.25) and of course followed by a scrumptious slice of their homemade Walnut Crusted Key Lime Pie ($3.50). With their extensive menu you’re sure to find something to suit your mood.
Daily soup and salad specials are also available and you can often find them listed on the Native Cafe’s Facebook page. During your visit you can also check out the many paintings and pieces of art from local artists adorning the walls that are available for sale. Take home your favorite piece as a reminder of your visit to Pensacola Beach or as the perfect touch for your condo or beach cottage.
Enjoy the beach like one of the locals and get away from the crowd at the Native Cafe, you’ll be glad you did! The prices are reasonable, the food is outstanding and the Native Cafe delivers a uniquely Pensacola culinary experience.
