My kids go to school with a relative of the Szotski family and on his birthday he shared mini cheesecakes with the class instead of the usual cupcakes. I heard about those cheesecakes for days so I had to try them out for myself. Szotski’s Cheesecakes, located at 2600 W. Nine Mile Road, is definitely worth a visit and I completely agree with the kids’ recommendation.

You can enjoy the best view in town at the Pensacola Lighthouse and Museum! Just 177 steps to climb up the historic Pensacola Lighthouse, built in 1859, and you’ll be treated with one of the most beautiful views on the Gulf Coast. The lighthouse is located on board NAS Pensacola and from the top of tower you’ll see stunning views of Pensacola Pass, three historic forts, the Pensacola skyline, and the historic Navy Yard. There is also a museum and a gift shop located in the fully restored Keepers’ Quarters that was originally built in 1869.
Recently I had the opportunity to try the southern fare at Union Public House located at 309 S. Reus Street, downtown Pensacola near the Wahoos Stadium. My best friend and her husband had been hearing great things about the restaurant so we decided to check it out. We arrived at 4:30 Saturday evening and were presented with a “cold” menu and informed that the “warm” menu wouldn’t be available until 5:00. We decided to get started with some specialty cocktails and the Beef Fillet Carpaccio, Fried Capers, Shaved Parmesan, Garlic Aioli, Parm, Pickled Cipollini ($12).
