As a thank you to fans and to the city of Pensacola for more than seven years of support, Pensacon will present a free outdoor festival to celebrate Halloween on Saturday, Oct. 31.
Pensacon Halloweenfest will be a full day of spooky pop-culture fun in Museum Plaza in downtown Pensacola. Offering an outdoor, convention-style atmosphere with a Halloween theme, the day will feature vendors, live entertainment, celebrity guests, artists, panels, food trucks, trick-or-treating and other fun in a safe and family friendly environment. Costumes are encouraged, and the day will include costume contests for children and adults, with a nominal entry fee for the adult contest.
The first celebrity guest announced is actor Corin Nemec, known for his roles in “Stargate SG-1,” “The Stand” and “Parker Lewis Can’t Lose.” Nemec and other guests will be on hand to meet fans, offer autographed photos for sale and pose for selfies with fans.
Kids in costumes will receive a free Halloween bag (while supplies last) and are encouraged to trick-or-treat with the vendors set up across the plaza.
Safety is of utmost concern, and in light of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, every precaution is being taken to ensure a safe event. Masks will be required at all times in Museum Plaza and associated venues and activities. Vendors will be spaced out across the plaza to encourage social distancing, and ample hand sanitizing stations will be made available. Attendees are encouraged to stay with their groups and maintain six feet of distance from those outside their bubbles.
“We wanted to host a fun, free, and most importantly, safe event that hopefully can bring a little joy to everyone this Halloween,” said Mike Ensley, Pensacon founder and CEO. “We appreciate the support of our fans and this is just another way of giving back to our community.”
