With several Pensacola locations, on the northeast and southwest parts of town as well as Pensacola Beach, Cactus Flower Cafe is a local favorite for California style Mexican cuisine. The spacious interior at this location on 6881 West Highway 98, is tastefully decorated in rich earth tones with lots of track lighting for atmosphere. Of course all of the Cactus Flower locations across Northwest Florida and in Alabama are known for the fresh, quality ingredients used in their delicious foods.
You’ll find lots of great Mexican food favorites on the Cactus Flower menu, but with a healthier spin without animal fat or items that are refried. Their extensive menu includes a large variety of soups, starters, sides, featured dishes and entrees. There is also a Gluten-free menu available plus vegan/vegetarian options are available for most menu items. Don’t forget to also check out their mouthwatering daily specials.
Appetizer choices include Mango Shrimp, Fresh Guacamole, Queso, Nachos and Mollette, a type of Mexican bruschetta. If you prefer a soup starter you can choose from Tortilla Soup, Chili and Chicken Posole. My favorite featured dishes are the Carne Asada Steak & Fries and the Shrimp Queso Bites, tender seasoned shrimp with smoked Gouda cheese, Jack cheese, herbs and spices, wrapped in a soft tortilla. There are many tasty entrees on the menu like Tostada, Ensenada Grilled Wrap, Tacos, Chimichanga, Quesadilla, Mahi Fish Tacos, Enchiladas Verdes, and Empanadas just to name a few. They also have an extensive kids’ menu and fabulous desserts like Chocolate Gooey Buttercake and Choco Flan, both of which I highly recommend.
Check out the Cactus Flower Cafe website before you visit as hours vary for each location and to contact them for catering options for your next office party or family get together. While you’re at Cactus Flower Cafe be sure to also try out their Purist Margarita, it’s been voted the Best Margarita on the Gulf Coast and has received a Best of the Bay award!
