Nestled in a strip center between Blue Angel Parkway and Five Flags Speedway on Pine Forest Road, you’ll find locally owned eatery Louisiana Lunchbox serving authentic Cajun cuisine like po’boys, crawfish, oysters, boudin and red beans and rice.
You might miss them if you don’t know where to look, keep an eye out for the big crawfish on the sign in their side window. Since they opened in late 2016 word has spread and they’ve grown through word of mouth. Although there’s almost always a line at lunchtime I’ve found the service to be quick and with a smile, and totally worth any wait as the food is prepared fresh to order.
The extensive menu at Louisiana Lunchbox includes a wide variety of delicious entrees like fried shrimp, fish, crawfish and oyster baskets in addition to a dozen different po’boys. There are also a few different burger choices as well as chicken salad and tacos.
The sides and soups are amazing and there are so many choices that making a decision can be tough.
As if you weren’t already having a hard time choosing what to order, they also serve authentic Louisiana style snowballs in a huge variety of flavors.
Check out the Louisiana Lunchbox at 7000 Pine Forest Road, they’re open Monday through Friday from 10:30 am to 7 pm and they’re closed on Saturday and Sunday. Give them a call at 850-361-1130 to place a carryout order.
